How can I reduce the risk of buying a counterfeit product?
First and foremost, buy from an authorised Shure dealer whether on-line or in their shop. You can find a list of dealers in your vicinity in our Where to Buy section. You can also give us a call at 0208-808-2222 to find a retailer in your vicinity.
If you choose to buy from on-line dealers and/or on-line auction sites like eBay, we highly recommend to be cautious when:
- you are shopping for SM or Beta models
- prices offered are well below the market average. Don’t get taken in by ‘Certificates of Originality’ or guarantees that are offered. They too are often as fake as the counterfeits.
- products are shipped from Asia particularly if stated that products were purchased from a Shure factory. Please note that all SM and Beta models are shipped from North America. It is highly unlikely that a product sent from North America to Asia to Europe would be cheaper than if it is shipped directly from North America to Europe.
