New KSM9 Vocal Condenser Microphone

22.03.2006 -- Shure’s new premium KSM9 vocal condenser microphone capsule is now available.   The KSM9, features a dual diaphragm design, an industry first for live performance microphones, delivers the nuance and subtlety associated with studio microphones as well as excellent gain-before-feedback and minimal proximity effect for incredibly accurate low frequency response.

KSM9 also offers an innovative switchable polar pattern design allowing the microphone to be switched between cardioid and supercardioid response patterns depending on user preferences or the demands of the live environment. And, with its advanced two-stage shock mount technology, KSM9 also stabilizes horizontal and vertical movement to significantly reduce handling noise.

Ten-time Grammy Award winner Bobby McFerrin used the KSM9 for his performance at the 2005 Montreux Jazz Festival. “I need to be sure that my microphone delivers what I want the audience to hear,” said McFerrin. “The new Shure microphone does exactly that. It is like crystal-clear water. It feels like you can see right down to the ground.  My sound engineer and I couldn’t be happier with it.”

As handheld transmitter, the KSM9 capsule is exclusively available with Shure’s new UHF-R Wireless Systems in champagne and black finishes. The capsule is also available separately as interchangeable cartridge. The wired KSM9 microphone will be available in late spring 2006.
