Shure Teams Up With Vocaltech

London, February, 2006 -- Shure Distribution UK is honoured to be supporting Vocaltech. Distinguished by its 20-year history of turning out some of the most pioneering and successful musicians and vocalists in the business, Vocaltech, along with its sister schools Drumtech, Keyboardtech and Guitar-X, are recognised both nationally and internationally as the most dynamic and academically rigorous music schools in the world.

From its base in West London, the schools were the first in Europe to offer a BMus Honours degree and Diploma courses in contemporary music, all of which are accredited and awarded by Thames Valley University and The Open College Network. Working together to offer training for all instruments, each school has its own 'instrument specific' classes as well as vibrant band workshops where students learn to play, perform and deliver together as a team.

Shure has long recognised the importance of taking an active part in the continued growth of the music and entertainment industry by supporting new and emerging artists. The decision to work in partnership with Vocaltech was based on key aspects of the school’s ethos – its commitment to excellence; its dedication to music education; its recognition of the importance of providing new and real opportunities for young people from all social and cultural backgrounds.

Many of Vocaltech’s students have gone on to become both influential and well known figures in the music and entertainment industry working with artists such as Radiohead, The Cure, Beverley Knight, Kylie Minogue, and KT Tunstall. Graduates include the promising and eclectic Japanese songstress, Maki Takamiya who was recently snapped up by Virgin/EMI Records and X-Factor finalist, Andy Abraham. Andy performed with the legendary Shure Beta 58 together with Shure’s new UHF-R wireless system which perfectly complemented his smooth-as-silk soul man crooning.

Shure also supports Drumtech by providing drum microphones for its regular and extremely popular drum clinics delivered by some of the world’s top drummers. Recent special guests have included Chad Smith of Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Ian Paice of Deep Purple.

Francis Seriau, Director of Vocaltech is delighted with the new partnership.

“To perform to your full potential you need the best equipment, so we are absolutely delighted that the world’s number one microphone manufacturer has recognised the excellence of our schools through this partnership agreement. Together we can do great things"
