A Sound Vision for Cherry Ghost

Shure supports new UK music talent

London, 12 November 2007 - Shure Distribution UK (SDUK) will be working with indie rock band, Cherry Ghost as part of their ongoing initiative to support up and coming music talent. With over 80 years of music heritage behind Shure, they have always been at the forefront of collaborating with new bands to encourage and inspire their performance.

Cherry Ghost started up in Bolton in 2005 as an alias for Simon Aldred as a solo artist before developing into a full band. They were recently nominated for "Best New Act" in the 2007 Q Awards in September 2007. Their debut album, ‘Thirst For Romance’ has been met with great critical acclaim and has just been shortlisted for the "New Music Award" category by XFM, which celebrates albums produced by artists new to the music scene. The band has supported Amy Winehouse, Polytechnic, Fields, The Spinto Band, and more recently announced that they will be accompanying Manic Street Preachers on tour.

SDUK will be providing Cherry Ghost with a range of professional music equipment for use on stage and in the recording studio. Dave Skelton, FOH Engineer said, "I've always been impressed by the sound of Shure microphones, so when it came to choosing the right microphones for Cherry Ghost there was only one real contender."

“Cherry Ghost is a fantastic example of a band that has risen to success through word of mouth,” said Paul Crognale, Marketing Manager, Shure Distribution UK. “Their reputation precedes them and the band has already achieved so much since the launch of their album. We believe that the equipment we are providing will be ideal for when recording the next album and we are expecting great sounds that will enhance Simon’s vocals.”
