Shure Wins The X Factor for the Fifth Year Running

 

London, 14 November 2007 – For the fifth year running the hit show “The X-Factor” has once again selected Shure microphones for use on the live shows. Being amateur performers judged to a professional standard, The X-Factor contestants need a microphone set-up that provides them with the best on-stage vocal output.

 

Shure UHF-R wireless products were chosen to fulfil the microphone needs in a busy RF environment. Dual-channel UR4D receivers were selected and all the X-Factor contestants use Shure Beta87C handheld wireless microphones on stage.  Most contestants are performing in front of a live television audience for the first time and when nerves are on edge having confidence in your mic system is essential. Sound Director Robert Edwards for the award winning show commented, “Again we turned to Shure to provide all the vocal mics for the live ITV shows. Shure UHF-R wireless systems are ideal for use in a live TV show environment as the UR4D dual channel receivers have up to 3000 selectable frequencies across an ultra-wide 75 MHz bandwidth providing superior capability to respond to changing, unpredictable and hostile RF conditions. Along with Shure’s Advanced Track Tuning Filtering Technology, which shifts the RF filter along with the selected frequency, UHF-R systems offer up to 47 compatible systems per band without audio degradation or interference.
